ALEPEL x Moda Operandi
This iteration of ALEPEL’s hand-painted slippers is characterized by references to intricately researched art genres that have long been inspiration sources. These historical inspirations include rococo, baroque, and chinoiserie and are interpreted by using asymmetry, layering, focused details, and, of course, hand-painting. Each slipper in Moda Operandi’s collection is the true compliment of the other. Every pair is lovingly painted by hand, creating the sense that these pieces are truly wearable art.
When designing styles for the second monogram-themed trunk show for celebrated luxury retailer, Moda Operandi, ALEPEL’s designer gave immense thought to the delicate and selective nature of the M’O shopper. An elegant and discerning customer, we knew that florals would speak to the cultivated taste of many women who appreciate beauty in all things, including nature. ALEPEL featured a magnificent element of customization with monograms, making every pair painted, not only with the artists signature hand-work, but with initials painted specially and specifically.
